We are sorry to see it go. January 20, 2006 It's sad how business can destroy friendships. They always say don't work with friends. This must be a shining example of the cliche. When the partners of SushiFinder were faced with the responsibilities of actually running a fun side project as a business, our friendship turned partnership began to fall apart. Over the past few years communication became virtually non-existent between the partners. Simple Machine, Inc as a minority partner decided it was better for us and for SushiFinder to just bow out. We offered up options for our partner to assume our minority stake in the business in order for the LLC to legally dissolve or reform. We did this with the assumption and hopes that he would continue on. After all, it was such a beloved pet project for us all. Our multiple attempts to open a communication and negotiation failed and our offers were largely ignored and only returned by the existing and continuing arguments and name calling. Even though one of those offers was to give away our share at no cost with the exception of being noted as contributors, the end of SushiFinder was starting to look like an unfortunate possible outcome. After letting the dust settle for several weeks and attempting once again to open a conversation, the same response was received only this time in addition our partner pulled the site down and sent out emails assigning fault while simultaneously promoting his new venture. Why he wouldn't just want to continue with the potential of SushiFinder is hard for us to understand. We sincerely apologize that SushiFinder is now gone. It was never our intention to have any part in its demise. All we wanted was to be removed from a bad relationship. We responsibly offered to leave on good terms in order to help the site grow and what we received was a lot more name calling and the death of SushiFinder. Thanks to everyone who loved and contributed to the site. It was an incredibly fun project for us all and will be missed. Unfortunately for us, we've also lost a friendship.
